S.I.T.C. TUNA TOURNAMENT RULES AND REGULATIONS 1.
The S.I.T.C. Tuna Tournament is sponsored by the Staten Island Tuna Club and is
opened to members and non-members. 2. The tournament will be held TBA 3.
Captains must check in with the committee boat at the Great Kills Bug light 5 AM
or later, unless priorarrangements
have been made with the tournament committee. 4.
Boats must be over 23 feet in length. There are no distance limits or
boundaries. 5.
There is one prize, winner takes all. 6.
Any LEGAL tuna of any species are eligible to win either division. 7.
VHF channel 72 will be the official tournament communication channel. 9. Staten Island Yacht Sales & Michael’s Bait & Tackle are the official weigh-in stations for this tournament. Long Island boat weigh-in stations will be determined. The deadline for all “weigh-ins” is 6 PM 10.
In the event a boat that has a qualifying fish is towing a disabled boat, the
committee boat must be notified within a reasonable time, prior to 6 PM Sunday August 12, 2007 and will
be allowed to weigh in a fish after 6pm. “ Reasonable time “ will be at the discretion of the tournament
committee. The disabled boat will not be allowed to weigh in a fish after 6 PM Sunday August 12, 2007 11.
Fishing is by rod and reel only. Tackle is unlimited as to line test, leader
length, and double line. No hand-lining is allowed. More than one angler may fight the fish. 12
Each boat must supply their own bait with no restrictions. 13.
This tournament will abide by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Laws and National
Marine Fisheries Regulations. All boats must have all required permits and documentation. 14.
Captains meeting will be at Michaels Bait & Tackle, Friday August 10, 2007 @
7pm. A representative of each boat must attend, unless prior arrangements were made with the tournament
committee. 15.
Tournament will be cancelled if SMALL CRAFT WARNINGS ARE POSTED or at the discretion of the tournament committee. 16.
VHF Channel 72 will be official Tournament channel You must
obtain a certified “weigh-in” receipt (as proof of catch) to claim any prize. KEEP TOP OF FORM AND SUBMIT WITH WEIGH-IN.
