2010 Trip on the Voyager SITC

Congratulations to Walter Fisher for organizing a successful deep sea tuna trip to the Hudson Canyon. First up with a 75 lb. tuna was President Guy (Bill) Ahearn. Second up was Organizer, Entertainment and Sales Director Walter Fisher with a 70lb. and 80 lb Yellow Fin Tuna. The other guys got many run offs and quite a few large sharks. Ricky Keane had a heck of a tuna on but he got spooled with drag locked up.

The real story though was Charlie DeHart. He hooked into an estimated 350 lb. Blue Fin Tuna. He fought that fis for 3and 11/2 hours. Nobody could believe the stamina he had fighting that fish. But the battle was not over. He handed the rod to Walter Fisher who gave it 110% for 15 Minutes and 2 other mates joined in giving the rod back and forth to keep maximum pressure on the Blue Fin. This lastef for another hour and then unfortunately the line finally gave way and snapped. But the real real story was the courageous, energetic fight that Charlie DeHart Gave. Everyone on the voyager, mates included agreed they could not lasted that long. We all look forward to the next Trip.
